ANTIQUE JENNINGS BROS METAL SWAN FIGURINE CANDY DISH C. 1890’S
Jennings Brothers Manufacturing Company was founded by three brothers in 1890 in Bridgeport, CT. They turned to war production in the 1940’s and went out of business in the early 1950’s. They became known for highly detailed sculptures and figurines in a metal they called Gray Metal, similar to this swan. This swan FIGURINE/CANDY DISH is hollow. This swan is very, very detailed and is positioned like a bird swimming in a lake, feet to the back. The swan measures 5-1/2″ long, ” and 4-1/2″ high. This swan is in very good condition. The swan has no breaks, punctures or dents in the metal. The bottom of the swan carries the mark “JB.2494” This represents the company initials and the model number of this swan. The swan most likely dates from 1890 to about 1920, so it’s at least 100 years old. Please let me know if you have any questions or need more photos. Thank you for looking!
